Running has helped me notice patterns that also show up in cloud work.
Long review sessions have a point where focus drops. If I ignore that point, I start reading the same config twice and still miss the small detail. A short walk before opening a new codebase often gives me a cleaner first hour than forcing myself to stare harder at the screen.
I track the time of day when attention dips, the type of task I was doing and whether a walk changed the number of questions I had to ask afterward. It is not a complicated system. It is just enough evidence to stop pretending every hour has the same quality.
Training works the same way. A shorter evening run changes the next morning. A hard week changes the patience I bring to a review. Noticing that early helps me move deep work away from the weakest part of the day.
Discipline is not pushing every task with the same force. It is learning where the work needs pace, rest and a clearer start.
